Ally Kristan
Wildlife Policy Specialist, National Wildlife Federation
Ally Kristan is a Wildlife Policy Specialist for the National Wildlife Federation. In this role, she brings her dynamic background in marine biology and policy in order to advocate for scientifically sound solutions to Gulf of Mexico conservation issues. She holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from UNC Wilmington and an M.S. in Oceanography & Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University, and her academic research has focused on Antarctic ecology related to human (including climate) impacts. Ally comes to NWF from the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Office of Polar Programs where she worked to protect Antarctic wildlife through international policy. Previously she worked for nonprofit organizations across all three US coasts, from rehabilitating sea turtles in North Carolina to leading whale watches in Hawaii to protecting shorebirds in the Tampa Bay Region.
