Cathleen Berthelot

Senior Policy Manager, Restore the Mississippi River Delta, Environmental Defense Fund, Environmental Defense Fund

Cathleen Berthelot serves as senior policy manager for coastal resilience at EDF. Based in New Orleans, she has been with the MRD for almost five years, first in the role as campaign manager before moving on to handle federal policy matters. Cathleen is chair of the MRD’s Federal Policy Committee, where she coordinates the MRD’s work before Congress and the Administration. Among other priorities, the Federal Policy team explores opportunities to secure and expand funding for Louisiana to dedicate to its Coastal Master Plan.

 

A native of Washington, DC, her previous experience includes working in the U.S. House of Representatives as a legislative director for a Colorado Congressman, followed by two years of lobbying for a national trade association, then moving to New Orleans and working for former Senator Mary Landrieu, before joining the MRD. Cathleen is married to Louisiana native Beau Berthelot and they have three young children.
