Faye Matthews

Senior Counsel, National Wildlife Federation

Fayenisha “Faye” Matthews is Senior Counsel at the National Wildlife Federation where she works on legal and policy coastal land protection and restoration issues and supports the work of science experts to improve the health of the Gulf of Mexico for communities and wildlife. Previously, Ms. Matthews served as Legislative Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and Of Counsel at Waltzer, Wiygul, and Garside Law Firm where she specialized in environmental law.

She earned a B.S in Psychology from the University of New Orleans and a J.D. from Southern University Law Center.

Ms. Matthews is admitted to practice law in the State of Louisiana. She is a member of the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources. She is a member of the legal advisory committee of the Louisiana Climate Initiatives Task Force. Ms. Matthews is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola New Orleans College of Law and Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.
