Taya Fontenette

Outreach Intern, National Wildlife Federation

Taya Fontenette is an Outreach Intern at the National Wildlife Federation, working with the Outreach Manager to develop and implement engagement strategies to advance the priorities of the Restore the Mississippi River Delta Coalition. As a New Orleans native, Taya wants to be an advocate for effective environmental policy and infrastructure in her home state. Last spring, Taya graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Conservation and a minor in Political Science. While in school, she participated in Northeastern’s Dialogue of Civilizations study abroad program, where she studied coastal sustainability across southeast Asia and New England in partnership with the University of Hong Kong. Before joining NWF, Taya worked as an Agricultural Apprentice at Grow Dat Youth Farm in New Orleans’ City Park. Outside of the office, Taya is a 3D artist and a houseplant enthusiast.
