Date: September 14, 2017
Time: 5:30 pm

The Urban Conservancy is partnering with members of the Water Collaborative of Greater New Orleans to host a mayoral forum on “Flood Risk and Adapting to a Changing Environment.” The Greater New Orleans Foundation is the primary sponsor.

Other sponsors include the Coalition to Restore Coastal LouisianaThe Lens, the Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law & Policy, the Tulane ByWater Institute, the Gulf Restoration Network, and the Lowlander Center.

The moderated forum will give candidates the opportunity to answer questions on issues pertaining to New Orleans’ role in Louisiana’s coastal land loss crisis and restoration efforts, the City’s flood protection and the future of living with water, and lastly the City’s role in committing to climate change adaptation and the principals delineated in the Paris Climate Accord. Though the broad topics have been identified, we welcome suggestions for specific questions from organizations, stakeholders and residents.
