Joe Murphy

Wildlife Policy Specialist, National Wildlife Federation

Joe Murphy is the Wildlife Policy Specialist for the National Wildlife Federation’s Gulf of Mexico Program. Joe is a native Floridian who lives in Hernando County, Florida with his wife Becky and his two dogs. Joe is a graduate of Eckerd College. Joe has worked for groups including Florida PIRG, the Endangered Species Coalition, Sierra Club, Oceana, and Healthy Gulf. Joe worked for the Hernando County School District as a Science Teacher for ten years, as well as for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) as a Regional Volunteer Coordinator. Joe enjoys paddling, hiking, and fishing along Florida’s Nature Coast and spending time with his grandchildren, Grace, and Wren.
